Camping & budget options

Pemba Dive & Bush Camp (Nacole Gardens)

For camping, you can't beat Nacole for a truly magnificent location. Set on the inside of Pemba Bay, minutes away from the airport, there is a 100 hectare bush camp right on the beach. There are very few chalets at the moment (more opening soon) and a bar where you can get beers and soft drinks, BBQ/braai & self-catering facilities and very clean ablutions. It is tranquil, with beautiful sunsets to be seen across the bay. The owner will show you the amazing birdlife on the property, and there is safe swimming and snorkelling in between the mangroves. The sea is usually calm as it is situated on the sheltered inside of the bay. Although not necessary all year round, a 4x4 is advisable during the rainy months (Dec – April) to get in and out of town. Owners Brenda & Rudi Franck are happy to pick guests up from the airport or town.
