To & from Ibo Island
Currently Ibo can be accessed by air, boat or road from Pemba. A scenic 25 minute flight over the Quirimba islands is by far the fastest and most convenient option, from $127 per person each way plus a $10 domestic departure tax on the Pemba - Ibo leg. The other alternative is a rather long and bumpy drive to Tadanhangue, from where you can catch a dhow over to Ibo. Remember to check the tides before you leave as the boats can only cross at high tide. This journey takes a better part of the day.
