Kaskazini is a Swahili word meaning "to the North". Kaskazini was launched in Pemba in 2003 in order to promote tourism in Northern Mozambique, and soon expanded to cover the whole of the country. We continue to be the leading tour operator for Pemba and the North, whilst offering a comprehensive service for the rest of Mozambique.
We have seen a slow but steady growth in tourism over the years, in Northern Mozambique in particular, and are proud to say that Kaskazini has played a significant part in it. Not only through offering our knowledge to many a consultant and guidebook but also supporting new operators with advice and guidance.
We believe in introducing tourists to the real Mozambique, its people and culture, and we promote places that capture the spirit of this diverse country. We are uniquely placed to book small, intimate venues, as well as more established operators. Our speciality is tailor-made holidays, using our unbeatable local knowledge to showcase the best that Mozambique has on offer, from romantic island hideaways to remote wilderness camps. We also offer the best rates for individual hotel, guesthouse and lodge bookings, transfers and excursions.
We aim to offer a more comprehensive service than any other tour operator at competitive prices, but stand out for offering in addition a wealth of expert, local knowledge, unique local experiences, and exceptional customer service. We are passionate about Mozambique, put our clients’ satisfaction ahead of quick profits, and take pride in our personalised service.
Kaskazini is owner-run and managed; the office team is made up of Claer and Lesley, and Ansumane is our friendly, Portuguese and English-speaking driver.
