Il Pirata, 20 minutes south of Pemba, was the very first lodge to open its doors on the endless white sands of Murrébuè beach. It is owned and managed by Susanna and Carlo and is not only the 'in-spot' for kite-surfing but Susi also serves fabulous Italian meals and excellent pizzas.
The bungalows were constructed using only indigenous materials and are tastefully decorated with a local flair.  There are two beach bungalows and one romantic stone house higher on the property which has a super sea view.  Not to be missed!
If you are a kite-surfing enthusiast then look no further for a stunning spot to practice this exhilarating sport from. Run by Carlo and his team, for assistance with launching, rigging and support (bringing you back in...).  The south easterly trade winds blow non-stop from April to September, ranging between 15 to 30 knots.  Kick off your shoes and relax here for a few days with the turquoise sea beckoning you in for a swim or take long walks on the deserted beach.
