Matemo Island Resort offers a luxurious beach-based holiday on one of the most beautiful of the Quirimba Islands. White-sand beaches, azure waters and abundant palm trees create a perfect tropical setting for a honeymoon or romantic holiday, just relaxing or enjoying spectacular diving and snorkelling over untouched reefs as well as world-class deep-sea fishing.
Accommodation consists of 24 individual wood and thatch air-conditioned chalets with Moorish overtones, furnished with Zanzibar-style wooden beds, Satellite TV, mini-bar, private open-air showers, and en-suite bathrooms with panoramic views to the beach from the bathtub. All the chalets are located on the endless white sandy beach, and the inviting warm water of the Indian Ocean lures you in for that early morning swim before breakfast. The resort buildings continue the Arabic theme with colourful and comfortable furnishings and the open-sided thatched restaurant and bar area overlook the pool.
As with all the best restaurants, they make the most of the fresh ingredients available to them, and the seafood is delicious and beautifully presented. Enjoy a slow and leisurely lunch watching the dhows sail past, wondering if they are catching the chef's special pièce de resistance for dinner...
Matemo welcomes families and younger guests are entertained by the other exhilarating water sports on offer including kayaking and canoeing, hoby-catting and water-skiing, or of course making the most of the pool.
The great thing about Matemo is that you can do as much or as little as you like.
