Nuarro Lodge is an eco-gem sheltered in Memba Bay on the Baixo do Pinda Peninsula. Their twelve luxury chalets are all on the beach to maximise the benefits of the gentle breeze blowing from the sea, and of the marvellous ocean views. Thoughtful, innovative use of natural, local materials add special and colourful aesthetic details; and the eco concept is reiterated with the use of wind and solar power.
Nuarro Lodge offers world class shore diving for all levels of scuba divers, from beginners to the adventurous advanced as well as superb snorkelling experiences and kayaking through the mangroves to view the magnificent birdlife. The humpback whales that pass through the area from July to November are also a majestic site to witness. Accommodation is very comfortable in the 100m2 private chalets, each with their own indoor and outdoor shower, lounge area, wooden veranda and large and airy mosquito nets over super-king sized beds. Food is fresh, imaginative and delicious. Children are welcome, and ten of their twelve chalets have an extra twin bedroom upstairs to accommodate families.
They are committed to their policy of ‘fair trade tourism’ and have supported the local community with the introduction of several sustainable and long-term ideas such as agricultural projects.
