The rustic Taratibu Bush Camp (meaning to go slowly and carefully) is nestled between three soaring granite outcrops known as inselbergs, within the boundaries of the Quirimbas National Park. Huge sub-tropical rain-forest trees shelter a great diversity of bird life, insects and various primate species. Bush walks meander through untouched wilderness to swimming spots and breathtaking viewpoints. Trek elephant with a guide or simply enjoy walks in this most extraordinary bush teeming with life.
The camp is set up with three twin, en-suite bungalows with basic, communal kitchen & barbecue facilities as there is no restaurant, it is therefore self catering. You do need a 4x4 to get there and bookings are essential. Kaskazini acts as the sole booking agent on behalf of the Taratibu.
Activities include game drives, guided walks & elephant tracking, bird watching, climbing inselbergs, star gazing, swimming in rivers and crystal clear pools (only in wet season).
Do not expect to see the Big Five but you will be swept away by the beauty of this serene & truly magnificent wilderness. You will not find mobile coverage or internet; bliss for those wanting to get away from modern life and enjoy nature as it once was.
Rates: $100 per person per night sharing, bungalow or camping
